Teacher grants
February 2024 Every year Division 2 conducts a drawing where 14 teachers from Alameda, Emeryville, Oakland and San Leandro can enter to win grants of $250 each. This money can be used for anything teachers want. They are extremely appreciative because they spend so much of their own money on the classroom. This year students will experience things such as a petting zoo or a math game night for families, or receive art supplies and learn to weave and make quilts like The Underground Railroad. Art supplies and books that show cultural diversity are always sought after. Think how proud a student will be when they see their literary journal in print!
